We enable organisations and individuals to develop and grow, achieve results and enjoy what they do.

Resigning without a new job is a question I get asked a lot.

We often get asked this question when people are really unhappy. Unless you’re unsafe, our view is always to have a next step planned before letting go.

It’s important to distinguish between what you are leaving and where you are going. Being forward-focused is essential when planning a move. Now is the time to stop thinking about what you don’t have and to focus on what you want for your next role.

It is usually easier to get a new job when you have a job. This is because when you are working, you typically remain busy and active and have momentum in your life.

When you don’t have a job, it’s really easy to just stop. It can be hard to explain why you are not working, and it can be tough to keep motivated to find what you want. So if at all possible, do the work, even hire a career coach to find out who you are, what you want and where you want to be. Then, get that job before you leave.
